#NYFW Backstage Beauty: @MehronMakeupNYC meets @MalanBreton at Pier 59 Studios

I covered backstage beauty for Mehron Makeup during NYFW for their sponsored show with Taiwan born designer, Malan Breton.

The look was designed by Key Makeup Artist, Dani Fonseca. The inspiration came from the classic American beauty, Marilyn Monroe.  I loved the 1950's inspiration. Beautiful porcelain skin, red lips and a beauty mark is definitely a way to set the mood for the runway!

Classic red lip created with Mehron's Big Apple (Red) Lip Cream
The beauty mark gave just the right touch for the "Marilyn look"

Fonseca used Mehron's Celebre' HD Pro Foundation to create flawless skin.

Mehron's Fuller Eye Lashes were used to complete the eyes with
Natural Wheat and Carbon Eye Powders.
Pearl Precious Gems was also blended to soften the eye.

Cheeks were contoured with Mehron's Cocoa Eye Powder
and Geranium Cheek Cream was used to add a pop of color.

Summer Beauty: Get the look you want minus foundation

There's no doubt that summer is here and some days are just too hot for tons of makeup. It's time to reduce your makeup routine to the necessities. Keep in mind that your skin is most important. Great makeup can only happen with great skincare. Nurture your skin with a great skincare routine that gives you gentle cleansing and moisturizing morning and night. After you have cleansed your skin, grab your favorite moisturizer with SPF (15 or more) and follow with skin finishing, eyes, brows, cheeks and lips! If you're goal is cover a few dark spots, a great concealer can give you spot control. Finish your makeup with a nice, light cover of setting powder. Using your powder puff or powder brush, cover your entire face with a light dabbing or patting motion and you're good to go!

Guest Post: Brighter Wardrobes, Brighter Lives

Bold Color

Bright, bold colors are hitting the runways and clothing stores hard this year. Color is making an unprecedented splash--dare to wear neon yellow, bright pink and eye-catching purple inspired apparel and jewelry for that red carpet summer look!

Designers featured color-block shift dresses, beautiful paisley patterned clothing and a wide variety of floral patterns are everything from jackets to swimwear. Even fashion accessories such as scarves and hats, emerged this year in the boldest of shades! Pair colored denim with a floral printed wedge heel and a bold colored silk top for a cool look this summer. Exude ease and confidence in the trendiest looks this season without breaking the bank and without breaking a sweat! Get that polished 2-hour look in the ease of 20 minutes—giving you more time to do more fabulous things this summer!

Bold Emotion

With all this bright color, women have never been so encouraged to bring extra cheeriness and a bit of attitude from the office to a night out on the town. Who can possibly be depressed while wearing yellow Bermuda shorts with a white eyelet top? Who wouldn’t have a happier day simply by wearing bright pink capris coupled with a floral tunic top? When you look good, you feel good, and when you feel good, you’re simply great!

If it’s a little attitude she’s looking for, a woman can do a flirty paisley skirt to wear to the office and couple it with a lightweight biker jacket. Work from the ground up this summer season by not forgetting about your most important accessory—your shoes! Crank up the attitude a notch further with a pair of bold colored cork bottom wedges. Look long and lean and any height with this comfortable option or indulge in a pair of glittery gladiator sandals or patterned platform heels! Combined with all that this season’s prints and patterns, and your footwear will keep the mood light and you in charge!

Bold Fun

What good is summer if it doesn’t come with fun? The bold patterns, colors and styles of this season make sporting trends more fun and exciting than ever.  Since today’s new styles are uplifting spirits everywhere, their empowering nature will make women everywhere excited about their own sense of style. Now women can add fun and fashion to their lives while empowering themselves with just enough attitude to be chic!
