I survived: COTTON 24 HOUR RUNWAY SHOW

It's Sunday morning at 5:48 AM
I finally made it to a calm place.... 4th floor of the Colony Theatre in the Hair & Makeup room for Cotton's 24 Hour Runway Show...

Someone over at Cotton, Inc. is super smart and yet kinda quirky and crazy all at the same time. A brilliant idea was born, to host a 24 Hour Runway Show!  I don't know how and why, but they did.  I'm happy to say I was chosen to be apart of the Makeup Team for this event, led by DeShawn Hatcher who served as Beauty Director for the show.  DeShawn created over 200+ hair and makeup looks. The lookbook was crazy!!! I remember flipping through it and being excited and nervous about what was getting ready to happen.

After being briefed on the looks for each model and genre it was time to go to work. My team and I got the models ready for the first set: Date Night! I got my model runway ready and headed over to the tents. This is where it all became real! There's the Crew, Style team, Beauty/Hair, the show Producers and tons of people running around. I checked in with the Beauty assistants and interns on the flow and got ready.

Once my models and team made it over, the party got intense. The models on my shift were AWESOME!!! I can't believe after being tugged on pulled this and that way all night, they had great attitudes! We rocked it out (thuggin' for beauty) til 3AM!!!

Somewhere between 2AM - 3AM, I briefed the next shift leader on the happenings... Great relief was upon me. I must have been overdosed on beauty because I STAYED IN THE TENTS!!!! I was tired, but I was A-OK! While the next shift got their models ready back in the Hair/Makeup room, I kept the world behind the tents going strong! (whoop whoop for leadership)

A super BIG thank you goes to DeShawn for selecting me to be apart. Our team did a phenomenal job and I'm thrilled to have worked
with a wonderful group of makeup artists.  The show was amazing and I'm proud to have had the experience!

So after waving hello to Lincoln Road at 5:15pm, Saturday it was time to give a good ole' sashay-goodbye to Lincoln Road at 12:15pm Sunday.

If you missed the show, catch the highlights here.
